First Amendment No Big Deal, Students Say

Man, what are they teaching in high schools nowadays? This is the backbone of what makes America the country that it is. But, in case there are some people out there who don't know the First Amendment, here it is...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

First meeting of Spring semester!

Greetings, everyone!

The first SPJ meeting of the semester will be Thrusday February 3, 2005 at 3pm in the Burleigh room. In case you don't know, the room is down in the lower level of the LA building.

Conference News...

Quick update on regional and national conferences...

The Region 5 Conference is scheduled this year for April 15 and 16 at the Medill School of Journalism. It's located at Northwestern University in Chicago. More information will hopefully be available in the weeks to come.

Meanwhile, the SPJ national convention is slated for October 23-25 in Las Vegas. More information is available on the SPJ website.
